Technology Behind Our Fulfilment — JTL & FFN

Efficient fulfilment depends on more than warehouse space. Depoxpress UK runs its UK operation on JTL and FFN — the same operational approach used in our German fulfilment activities — so orders, stock and dispatch move through one structured workflow instead of ad-hoc handling.

How FFN works

FFN connects the way you sell to the way we ship

FFN is a fulfilment-network system. It standardises how order and stock information passes between a seller's sales setup and the warehouse that stores and ships the goods. JTL runs the warehouse side of that workflow — goods-in, storage locations, picking, packing and dispatch. Together they give our team one connected operational environment rather than a set of disconnected spreadsheets and exports.

    Order data from your channels is brought in through a single, consistent process — not a different manual export for every platform.

  • Stock is tracked at SKU level

    Each SKU has a live quantity in the system, adjusted as orders are picked and as returns are booked back in, so warehouse figures stay aligned with what you sell.

  • Warehouse steps follow a set workflow

    Goods-in, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch run as structured JTL and FFN steps, which keeps handling consistent as volume rises.

  • Dispatch and tracking flow back

    When an order ships, the dispatch confirmation and carrier tracking are recorded against it and passed back for your records.

JTL supports warehouse and eCommerce operational management. FFN supports the fulfilment-network workflow and operational environment. They are internal operational systems — not marketplace connectors.

The fulfilment flow

What happens to an order, step by step

Once your channel is set up with us, every order follows the same path from your storefront to your customer's door.

  1. Step 1: Channel set-up

    We agree how order information reaches us for each sales channel and confirm it end to end before go-live.

  2. Step 2: Order intake

    New orders are brought into the workflow in one standard format and queued for picking.

  3. Step 3: Pick & pack

    Items are picked against the order, checked for accuracy and packed with your materials and any inserts.

  4. Step 4: Dispatch

    Parcels go out on Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Tracked 48; tracking is recorded against the order.

  5. Step 5: Stock & returns

    SKU quantities are updated, and any UK returns are received, inspected and processed to your rules.
